Cue pithy, punny intro to this month’s blog post. Nova is 5 months! Tycho’s on ski week break! We’re tired!

The Good: Nova started scooting! Mostly she just goes around in a circle but also we find her unexpectedly far away from her playmat. She often heads towards the wine fridge… She’s also learned how to scoot to the edge of the picnic blanket and pull up grass. Best of all, Nova NAPS. Hard. Like 2-3 hours. It’s amazing.

The Bad: Tycho keeps petting his tongue and it’s weird. Still no teeth, but we can see a few white specks in Nova’s gums, so we know they’re coming – the constant chewing and sad-wakeups at night also a giveaway.

The Hilarious: Tycho has reached the “poop is funny” age. We’re probably not supposed to laugh, but half of what he says is so ridiculous we have to muffle our laughter in our shirts. Also, the latest hit from Sartor Mona Tessie: “Don’t Eat That Baby” featuring the catchy refrain “Don’t eat that baby / the baby’s not food”. The baby in question really likes to eat plates so we can’t really hold her in our lap anymore or she’ll lunge and pull it toward her to chew on the edge.
