Fun fact: if you challenge Kristan to join you for a half marathon in Stockholm, she will say yes and then she will stubbornly fly to Sweden and run the half marathon, even if you do not run it yourself.

Today was the successful completion of that promise. Kristan ran her 21.1 km/13.1 miles in 02:26:10, apparently placing #3367 overall and #1866 in the under-40 age group. (None of these numbers seem possible in a race of 20,000 people.)

The best part? Having fika at the end, because in Sweden, not only do you get power bars and energy drinks when you finish a race, you also get black coffee and a cinnamon roll. Skål!

  1. Kristan, you over-deliver in everything you do. I’m so very, very proud of you Sweetheart! YOU DID IT!!!!! One more thing off your bucket list.

Hmmm, perhaps I should challenge you to a Zorb race down a mountain in New Zealand for my 60th?? Have fun in Sweden and please give special hugs to Malin, Jimmy, Kenneth and the whole family. (and to Max too!) Miss you and love you!

  2. KRISTAN, dear. You are amazing! — Congratulations; and all the while I see that Malin is enjoying a beer instead of being in there with you.
    PROSIT.
