Have you experienced “Maycember”? It’s the end of the school year edition of the December holiday madness… events, parties, and more! It’s been a month since May ended and we’re still recovering. So instead of prose, you get a bulleted list of our adventures!
This month we had:
- An exciting field trip to Magical Bridge playground for Tycho (and Kristan)
- Viking Run and a new 5K personal record for Tycho!
- Tycho’s school poetry festival and fun fair
- Bike to School Day – Nova did the whole group ride route plus a bonus section to her school, all by herself!
- Three birthday parties
- Pancake hike to Mt. Tamalpais to celebrate Mother’s Day
- Kristan and Tycho doing a field day at Nova’s school
- Tycho’s 250 millionth second
- An exciting field trip to the Farallon Islands Visitor Center for Nova (and Kristan)
- Bike to Wherever Day
- The Spring All-School Meeting (little did we know this would be our only date night for ten weeks)
- Nova’s school camping trip, of which we only went to one night because then it was…
- Bay to Breakers and a new B2B personal record for Kristan!
- Opening day match at Kezar Stadium for our hometown team SF City FC (Roll Fog!)
- Tycho’s last day of SF Tots soccer (he was suddenly, and very clearly, much older, faster and stronger than the other kids… it’s weird!)
- A visit from Aunt Brittany and Uncle Sean (who did a field day!) including a bowling adventure with Grandpa Bill and Grandma Nancy
- A overnight trip to Sacramento with a visit to the phenomenal California State Railroad Museum
- The end of Tycho’s Dungeons and Dragons campaign (the squid defeated the dragon!!)
- Solo parenting for three days by Kristan with another SF City game and Tycho’s school art show
- …while Max was off in Monterey for some father-son bonding
- …followed by a visit from Papa Stan
- And a third place finish from Kristan at the very hilly McLaren Park 5K, in which she spent the hills mentally singing one of Nova’s school songs, Birdie in the Tree
I don’t even know what all we did! Probably other stuff too, like swim class (Tycho got his silver ribbon! One more to go!) and a Giants game. Looking forward to next May when the kids are in the same school and theoretically we’ll have fewer events to go to! (Ha. Ha. Ha.)
B2B, glad to see that you kept all your cloths on.
I remember my first back in the mid 80’s…what an eye opener.
