Spooky October

Spooky Month is the best month! We leaned in hard this month to escaping the heat, to swim class and to all things spooky. The Halloween celebration started early and got more and more elaborate as the month went on. Bats in the espresso machine, anyone?!

We started the month with a week long heatwave of over 90 degrees (32+ Celsius). It was tough. Most houses and buildings in SF were not built with air conditioning because of our perennial sea breezes, so most of our usual activities were tricky.

And of course, after all that heat, it rained during our pool trip to Sonoma County to escape the noise of the Blue Angels jet shows! We still made it in the pool long enough one day to realize that Nova was too confident in the pool for her skill level… so we started doing swim lessons 2-3 times a week in preparation for our Hawaii trip in November!
