Goodbye Switzerland, hello Provence! Our 4 hour drive to Provence took 7 hours because of the Bastille Day traffic on the A7 motorway. Not quite the adventure we were hoping for and it left the four of us feeling extra anti-car… But France!
We were surrounded by beautiful countryside, medieval villages, old ruins and vineyards. We walked into our little village of Oppède (the “new” village, ha, as opposed to the old fortified one half in ruins on the mountainside) for bread and pastries, explored little villages, Max and I had a lovely wine tasting afternoon date at the little winery around the corner, and we ate our weight in tomatoes and fruit from the farmer’s market.
And most importantly, we got lots of time with family. It was so much fun swimming together, laughing during games of Celebrity after the littles when to bed (which somehow worked!!), and playing hide and seek throughout our giant, wacky house!

Lovely colors! Lots of smiles (on the photos) and a charming environment (view, food, building, ….)
