Every year I think we’ve reached peak spooky and every year we outdo ourselves! The spookiness started right away with some excellent Pumpkin-Bunnies art from Nova and the usual decor around the house. The annual Halloween 5K, the Great Hauntway for trick or treating by the beach, carving pumpkins with friends, actually trick or treating… it never gets old.

The least spooky but most epic highlight of the month was flying to Denver to see Paul McCartney in concert with the kids! We’ve been listening to his solo work (Nova saying “put on McCartney I!!” in the car is hilarious) to get ready and came prepared with sound protection for everyone. It started late (of course) and I think Nova only made it half an hour before she said it was time to go to bed, but we made it all the way to the end and the kids have been singing Paul’s songs all the time ever since. Plus, we got to see Elisse and Scott and Margo!!! Couldn’t have asked for a better long weekend.

We also had some non-Halloween and non-Paul adventures too – soccer, acro, camping with friends, school book fair, Tycho’s first sleepover at someone’s house(!!). Another lovely month in our lovely city!

  1. I agree with Ira: Sooo many activities in just one month! Over the years you’ve shown to be a very active family.
