March went out like a lion so April came in like a lamb? We went from our busy-busy March straight into Nova’s spring break week. Tycho still had school so we decided to just take it easy and filled the week with  playdates with friends, cuddles, giant croissants, and mama (or tycho) preschool. Nova is getting so big, sometimes we look at her and just can’t understand how we have this complete little person who can make logical connections and has this deep empathy for other people. (A favorite line of the month, when she was talking to a friend about our house: “We have three levels in case someone is sick! We have two tvs, one is in case you are sick and want to watch a movie!”)

One week of them both at school and then it was Tycho’s spring break. He asked to just have time at home and not travel, so we had an “SF Adventure Week”! It was pretty nice having one-on-one time with our big kid. We had a fun day in the Presidio geocaching and jumping and going out to lunch just the three of us. Board game day – his first time playing Carcassonne! Becoming a Jr Ranger at the Maritime museum, mini golf, ube cookies at fika. “Day” camping because we were all too tired to stay the night but still wanted to enjoy our cool campsite at Kirby Cove. Checking out the Children’s science museum. Running a 5K last minute, plus a community egg hunt hosted by my run club – both kids found golden eggs!

GG and Papa D visited at the end of the month and got to do a “field day” at Nova’s school – she was SO excited to have them with her all day. And Tycho had his second “Walkathon” and accomplished his goal of run/walking 4 miles (and beating Kindergarten Tycho’s 5K, ha!).

Basically we spent the month just trying to embrace the joy of our daily lives, our kids’ awesome schools, and this beautiful, wonderful city we live in!
