We welcomed the New Year with a trip! We went to Utah for some snow time, except… there really wasn’t much snow and we left the kids’ ski jackets at home. Nova forgot how to ski entirely and was like a limp noodle on our first day on the mountain. On the way home, a three hour delay turned into a cancellation, but some hustling got us on board another airline just before they shut the airplane doors. Whew! Overall it was a lot more hectic than we’d like.
Thankfully the rest of the month was uneventful but full of fun. We had glorious weather for a few weeks – sunny and warm, and whenever we went to the park or the beach it felt like a vacation! We met up with some friends and acquaintances for a sunset happy hour at the beachfront park, and between the weather, the DJ, the beer, and all the people it felt like we were in Barcelona. Happy walks among the magnolias in the Botanical Gardens, wild birthday parties, celebratory mini-trips to the water park, cozy time with family – all the best ways to start a new year.
Looking forward to a 2026 filled with more of the same!
